Deepmarch
English:
Deepmarch is a solo roguelike lane-defense game. It's originally a physical board game — this is a digital, playable version I built to make it easy to test.
Enemies spawn at the top of a 5-row grid and descend toward you, one row at a time. You control a single hero at the bottom. Your job: stop them before they reach your row and overrun you.
Each turn you can move to any lane and attack with your weapons. Kills earn XP; spend it to level up and draft new cards — either a whole new weapon, or a node you attach to a weapon to power it up (more damage, more range, extra strikes, and so on). Build your hero the way you like across three increasingly dangerous floors, each ending in a boss.
Pick from four heroes — Warrior, Archer, Assassin, Mage — each with a different starting weapon and playstyle. Optional Pacts let you trade a permanent advantage for a permanent drawback, for players who want a harder run.
A few notes: This is an early prototype and I'm actively looking for feedback. The art is deliberately minimal — I care about how it plays, not how it looks. The game was originally written in Spanish; I used Claude (an AI) both to build this playable version and to translate it into English, so you may run into the occasional translation error — those aren't game bugs. If anything feels unbalanced, unclear, too easy, or too punishing, please tell me. That's exactly what I need right now.
Available in English and Spanish (toggle in the top corner).
Deepmarch — How to Play
A solo roguelike lane-defense game. Originally a physical board game; this is a digital prototype for testing.
The goal
Enemies pour down from the top of the board and march toward you, one row at a time. You control a single hero on the bottom row. Survive by stopping them before they reach you. Clear all three floors — each ending in a boss — and you win. If enemies overrun your row, you lose.
The board
The grid has five rows. Enemies spawn at the top and descend toward the bottom, where your hero stands. You can move sideways between lanes, but the enemies always come down.
Your turn
Each turn you get to act, then you end your turn and the enemies take theirs. On your turn you can:
- Move to any lane (once per turn).
- Attack with a weapon. Your main weapon is free; extra weapons cost valor.
- Concentrate or Rest instead — skip your turn to gain a little valor or health.
Then you press End turn, and the enemy phase plays out: enemies attack, advance, and new ones spawn.
Growing your hero
Killing enemies earns XP. Spend it to level up, and when you do you draft a new card:
- A whole new weapon, or
- A node — a small upgrade you attach to a weapon to make it stronger (more damage, more range, extra strikes, and so on).
Over a run you stack these into a build that fits your style. Every run is different because the draft is randomized.
Heroes
Pick one of four, each with its own starting weapon and feel: Warrior, Archer, Assassin, Mage. Try them all — they play very differently.
Pacts
you can seal Pacts: each gives you a permanent advantage in exchange for a permanent drawback. They make a run harder and spicier. Totally optional — skip them for a normal run.
Tips
- Hover over anything (enemies, bosses, weapons, items) to see what it does.
- Enemies have different behaviors — some shoot from range, some steal, some explode. Read them before they reach you.
- Bosses roll a die each turn for their action. Learn what each face does and you can plan around it.
- You don't have to kill everything — sometimes moving out of the way is the right call.
Hacer crecer a tu héroe
